Radon Testing in Central New York

Professional radon testing helps determine the level of radon gas present in your home. Radon is a naturally occurring, colorless, odorless radioactive gas that can enter homes through the foundation. Testing is the only reliable way to know if elevated radon levels are present.

PROFESSIONAL RADON TESTING

Accurate Radon Testing You Can Trust.

I use professional radon testing equipment to measure indoor radon levels over the recommended testing period. Once testing is complete, you’ll receive a detailed report explaining the results and whether additional action is recommended.

Radon testing is performed using a professional Radalink continuous radon monitor. Unlike a basic test kit, the monitor records an hourly measurement throughout the testing period. This provides detailed information about radon levels and helps identify changes or unusual conditions during the test.

Whenever scheduling permits, I make every effort to place the monitor in the home approximately three days prior to the inspection. This allows the required testing data to be collected so it can be retrieved at the time of the inspection and transmitted for processing. Completed results are generally available within approximately one hour after the monitor is retrieved and the data is submitted.

Radalink is recognized as one of the industry’s leading professional radon-testing systems. As an NRPP-Certified Radon Measurement Professional, I can explain what the results mean, discuss factors that may contribute to elevated radon levels, and help clients understand appropriate next steps when mitigation is recommended.

This combination of professional equipment, certification, and personal guidance gives buyers more than a test result. It gives them a clear understanding of the potential concern and what can be done about it.

Understanding Radon Gas

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that forms as uranium in soil, rock, and groundwater breaks down over time. Because it is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, the only way to determine whether elevated radon levels are present in a home is through professional testing.

Radon enters homes through cracks in foundations, basement floors and walls, crawl spaces, sump pits, utility penetrations, and other small openings where the home comes into contact with the ground. Once inside, the gas can become trapped and accumulate to elevated levels, regardless of the home’s age, size, or construction type.

Long-term exposure to elevated radon levels is the second leading cause of lung cancer overall and the leading cause among non-smokers. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking corrective action when indoor radon levels reach 4.0 pCi/L or higher, although reducing lower levels can also decrease health risks.

Since radon cannot be seen or smelled, professional testing is the only reliable way to know if your home has elevated concentrations. Whether you’re purchasing a home, selling a property, or simply want peace of mind, radon testing provides valuable information to help protect your family’s health.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Exceptional isnt the word. We cannot recommend Mike Loiacano enough. He encouraged questions (and we asked a ton), he made sure we understood what he was inspecting and what would be needed to fix. Mike provided the results with 24 hours. I have family looking to downsize and they will definitely use Mike. 10 out of 10 Mike! Thank you for everything!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our soon‑to‑be home inspected by Mike, and the experience was exceptional. He walked us through the entire process, explained his findings in a way that was easy to understand, and offered helpful advice on maintaining key areas of the home. He pointed out important safety considerations and things to keep an eye on, which made us feel secure and prepared as future homeowners.

Mike was incredibly patient with all of our questions and never made us feel rushed. He took the time to make sure we fully understood everything, and he sent us the full inspection report right away, which gave us even more peace of mind. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were outstanding. We’re truly grateful for his work and highly recommend him to anyone needing a reliable, thorough inspector.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’re in the process of buying our first home, and Mike just recently did a home inspection for us. He not only helped us locate every issue or potential issue, but he also had solutions and fixes to every single one that presented itself. He’s a very informative and in depth! His reports were done the very next day so we didn’t have to prolong the already long process of buying a home. I would 10/10 recommend Mike with Professional Property Inspection for your next inspection!!!
